Ellissay is a German singer/songwriter who lives in Germany and Scotland. She started her musical training at the age of eleven when she was taught how to play the mandolin. At the same time she wrote her first song "A Reason" on the mandolin and the follow-up "The River" which can only be found on an unreleased tape so far. Three years later she added the acoustic guitar and also various percussion instruments, as well as the tin whistle. During later high-school years she joined various choirs, an orchestra and band projects. A large variety of genres and styles such as Gospel, Rock & Pop, Ska, Electro-Pop, Indie, Soul and also Celtic Folk left a print on her unique voice and song writing. After years of writing for "a shoebox on my shelf", she says "one of my colleagues convinced me to go into the studio and record them. I wasn’t sure I could do it easily. No one had ever heard any of the material before. It took me a while to realise the opportunity". During the last years Ellissay has written some unique, melancholic, rocking, political and not so serious songs which are now going to be recorded for a demo CD. The first Rock-track "Feel Free" is going to be available for download soon and Ellissay hopes it’ll give her the opportunity to finish her album of various acoustic Indie Pop, Folk and Rock songs in the near future.
