Hallo ihr!

nachdem ich jetzt zwei Blogeintraege in Englisch formuliert habe, dachte ich, ist's mal an der Zeit was in Deutsch zu schreiben. Ich bin zur Zeit in Schottland und waehrend die Englaender die Strassen in Booten entlangpaddeln geniesse ich die schottische Sonne. Ich hab mir gestern in Inverness nen leichten Sonnenbrand eingefangen und ich muss dazu sagen es war eher bewoelkt und gar nicht mal so sonnig.

Ich moechte mich mal bedanken bei all denen, die meine Single geordert haben! Mit soviel Zustimmung hatte ich nicht gerechnet. Es macht wirklich grossen Spass eure Emails, SMS und "Privaten Nachrichten" zu lesen.
Herrlich amuesiert hab ich mich ueber die Tatsache, dass es jetzt bei WER KENNT WEN eine "Ellissay"-Gruppe im Bereich Musik gibt! hahaha Danke Alex! Also, schnell anmelden! Das zehnte Mitglied bekommt ne selbstgebastelte  Autogrammkarte von mir! Wenn das kein Ansporn ist!!
Zudem versuchen Alex und Co gerade ein Konzert zu organisieren - guckt doch mal bei WKW vorbei!

Ich mach mir jetzt nen Tee und setz mich wieder in den Garten und denke darueber nach, welche Ruine ich mir heute angucke. (Ich sitze zur Zeit in einer. Wir renovieren gerade den Hausflur - Gitarrespielen kann ich jetzt erst einmal vergessen nachde ich mir die Haut von den Haenden geschmirgelt habe....) Sehr gut gefallen hat mir Scone Palace bei Perth. Ich hab mich im Irrgarten drei mal verlaufen - war dafuer dreimal in der selben Ecke, das ist auch ne Kunst! Der Irrgarten allein ist sehenswert - die Hecken sind verschieden farbig, und es sieht aus wie ein Tartan!

Sehr zu empfehlen sind jetzt auch die Trips in die Highlands - alles faerbt sich jetzt rot und gelb. Leider ist das Heidekraut nicht mehr ganz so violett. Da faellt mir aber ganz spontan Coldplays "Violett Hill" ein. haha

Zurueck zur Musik - Stuart kann euch ab sofort mit Podcasts bei iTunes begluecken! Wann der erste "on air" geht, weiss ich noch nicht aber das erfahrt ihr dann hier oder im Newsletter! Oder beides!
Zudem wurde ich mehrmals gefragt, wann der Song Feel Free endlich als Download verfuegbar ist. Der Downloadtermin wurde etwas nach hinten verschoben - mein Produzent ist zu Zeit dienstlich in Afrika unterwegs und der Upload kann erst erfolgen, wenn er wieder da ist. Alles weitere folgt bald.

Hi there everyone,

not been writing for a while but then again I am suffering summertime-boredom. It's just too hot...oh no wait...no complaints...best way to survive summer is a "coffee-dark-chocolate-frappé". Just discovered this at a café in Cologne and I don't know what ingredients it really contains but it's kinda addictive.

So what has been happening lately? I am in Germany at the moment working on some acoustic set for a possible live gig. I am planning the first Living-Room-Session in 4 years. A small and intimate gig with some food and drinks and fun. Will tell you about that once we've set a date. Yes Alex - you'll be invited!

While you've been enjoying the sun elsewhere I have been seeing some shows like Paul Simon or The Storys. Bought another ticket for Amy Macdonald and have been enjoying Alanis Morissette and Liam Gerner lately as well. There's no time for holidays if great artists are in town! Saw the Kooks as well. What a show!

Concerts can be very inspirational so I wrote a new song - my new mandolin sounds kinda cool. Weird to play the instrument again after all those years. It's a difference if you play it in an orchestra or in a band. Chords are played more than single notes and everyone who's ever tried the mandolin will agree that some "easy" chords can make you go crazy. If only I had like six fingers or longer fingers to get the chords right. haha Guess I have to go back to my how-to-play-the-mandolin-books from 1823. Round about that time I took my first lessons. At least it feels like that.

Currently I am preparing the release of "Feel Free". Aye, it's about time and the release date I expect will be September. You'll be able to download it on iTunes, musicload and all those other programmes as well as my own website.
Also there's a special release of a CD copy. Stuart will tell you about that later I am sure and will set up some special page for that. The clever boy he is, I am convinced he will also tell you how to get hold of your free copy!

Now, go out and find yourself a coffee-dark-chocolate-frappé, buy yourself a ticket for a cool show and enjoy summer as long as you can and then feel free to come back to get your copy of my song.

Now this is my own little space on the website which looks pretty neat. I have to say having my own ".com" domain is really strange but cool. Thanks to Stu for looking after it!
The last two months have been like a rollercoaster ride and lots of great things are yet to come.
"Feel Free" is finally finished and pressed and is waiting for release. It's been a real long three years of production but even a flooded new studio couldn't stop Dirk and his team. The whole process - from recording the song in my livingroom, performing it live for the first time six years ago, meeting my producer who had to convince me to go into the studio, finding musicians for the record, up to the mastering process at Galaxy Studios in Belgium - was kinda amazing and sometimes a bit surreal. Now it's all done and we're taking the next step. Where that is going to lead us to is a bit vage but I am looking forward to whatever is going to happen.
I'd like to thank the whole team - Dirk, Udo, Stefan, Tom, Armin and Sabine - for their fantastic work and huge support. It was an amazing experience and only due to their belief in the song they made it all possible. I am looking forward to going back into the studio.

I'd also like to thank Alex for his constant support. He was one of those who always supported me and who never gave up asking "When's the song finished?" He's been there when I've performed the song in my living room sitting on the sofa. THAT was the first Unfinished Unplugged Sofa-Session and I think there will be a UUSS V2.0 sometime soon. So what's next? I am waiting for the covers at the moment. Once my friendly postman delivered them you'll be able to have your own CD copy. That won't be the only way to get hold of it of course. More on that later. Come back to this website to find out more.
